Writing in the Polish exam at B1 and B2: how many texts, how many words, how the points work
On telc you write one letter. On the state exam you write two texts: a short one and a long one.
telc: one letter
One letter, chosen from two — formal or personal. The brief has three points, and the costliest mistake is to lose one of them. The block lasts 30 minutes and is worth up to 20 points: four criteria of five each — content, composition, correctness and vocabulary.
The state exam: two texts
The block has two texts: a short one (greetings, a notice, an advert) and a long one (an e-mail, a story, a review). Each has its own brief and its length printed beside it. The whole written part runs without a break, so you divide the time between the texts yourself.
