Polish level test: check your A2, B1 and B2 grammar

Published 28 October 2026

Below are 18 sentences to complete: 6 each at A2, B1 and B2. Each checks a form that the state exam's list of grammar points names at that level — the answer says which form it is. Count your right answers level by level: where you start getting them wrong is the grammar to work on.

In short

  • 18 sentences, 6 per level; the answer and the name of the form checked under each one.
  • The forms come from the list of grammar points in the annex to the exam regulation (part II, adults); the sentences are ours.
  • This checks grammar, not an exam result: the state exam also has listening, reading, writing and speaking, and you need the pass mark in every part.

How to take this test

Put the word in brackets into the right form — in your head or on paper — and only then open the answer. Do not look at tables: the point is what you can do without them.

This is not a placement test from the Commission or telc, and it will not tell you which certificate you would pass. It checks grammar only — one form from each point we chose from the list.

How to read your result

Count the right answers in each level separately. Our yardstick — not the rules' — is one mistake in 6: if you make more at a level, that is where to start. At B1 and B2 grammar is a separate part of the state exam with its own pass mark; what it contains is in the post grammar at B1.

What else each level asks — topics, written forms, conversation — is set out in levels A2, B1 and B2. Ending tables to revise: cases and verbs. List of grammar points read on 17.10.2026.

Common questions

Will this test tell me whether I have B1?

No. It checks 6 grammar forms from the B1 list, while the exam has five parts, including listening, reading, writing and speaking.

How do you know a form belongs to a given level?

From the list of grammar points in the annex to the regulation of 14 February 2025 — each answer names the point on that list.

Is the imperative a B1 topic?

No. The list names the imperative and the conditional already at A2; B2 adds the forms of irregular verbs.

At which level does the passive come in?

At B2, and only "to a limited extent" — as do adverbial participles and impersonal forms in -no, -to.
